Today in "It's these onions — I'm not crying, I swear," a group of heroes helped a baby dolphin that was stranded on a Florida beach back to safety. It's the little things, people.
Rescuers found the 4-foot Flipper struggling against the waves at Redington Beach on July 4. The current, which was likely stronger than usual due to Hurricane Arthur, was too much for the little one — as well as beachgoers attempting to help — and the dolphin began to beach itself.
Eventually, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was called to the scene, and rescued the dolphin by removing it out of the water to safety.
The FWC is now caring for the dolphin with assistance from Florida's Clearwater Marine Aquarium, according to local media.
