This is not your average time-lapse video.
Photographer Vincent Brady used a custom four camera rig to capture an magnificent 360-degree panoramic view of the night sky.
To accomplish the effect, each camera is equipped with a fisheye lens and set to nonstop, long exposure, typically a minute or two long. Once the images were captured, Brady manually stitched the footage from the four cameras together using the software PTGui Pro.
Although Brady created his rig in January of 2013, the cloudy winter skies of Michigan were less than ideal for this type of footage. After graduation, Brady hit the road and traveled to the American southwest, Glacier National Park, Devils Tower in Wyoming and the mountains of British Columbia in search of clear, moonless nights, perfect for a time-lapse of the night sky.
