Yo, Aaron Paul, please stop turning on everyone's Xbox consoles.
The Breaking Bad star's commercial for Microsoft's Xbox One has apparently been interacting with Xbox One owners in real life.
In the ad, Paul uses some of the Xbox Kinect's voice commands, such as "Xbox on." When an Xbox One owner with a Kinect sensor says this, the device turns on. And, apparently, when Paul says it in the commercial, the Xbox thinks someone in the room said it, and turns on.
HAHAHA omg. @aaronpaul_8 just turned my Xbox One via the Xbox advert. (Which triggered the IR blaster to switch my TV off..) Amazing.— Qassim (@DrW_Qass) June 12, 2014
It's not a universal issue though, according to CNET. Though some users are reporting the issue, some are experiencing no repercussions from Paul's voice in the commercial.
The activations have happened before, without the help of Paul's voice. In November, an Xbox One owner posted a video of a different Xbox commercial starting the game Dead Rising 3 after someon in the ad said, "Xbox go to Dead Rising 3."
Paul's voice command isn't the only potential issue with the ad. The commercial highlights the new price of the Xbox One at $399. Though, according to Business Insider, at the $399 price point, the Xbox One does not come with the Kinect sensor that allows a user to use the voice commands featured in the ad.
Mashable has reached out to Microsoft for comment, but the company didn't immediately respond.
