It's tricky to offer Memorial Day tributes on Twitter, but the National Guard has risen to the occasion with a Vine that manages to be both cool and respectful:
There was no such standout in the corporate world. For brands without an obvious military connection, the holiday can pose a dilemma: Ignore it and you can appear callous, but attempt to celebrate it and you can look like you're commercializing it.
Most brands made due with appreciative messages about the sacrifices made by the men and women in our armed forces. A collection of brand tweets by comedian Joe Mande, though, shows not everyone managed to pull it off:
